Song Review

Actually my favorite singer since I was in junior high school until now is Taylor Swift. But now the additions are The Script, and Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Maroon V. Now I will tell the review about “Man on Wire” from The Script. I choose this as my first song review because right now I like to listening to this song, I repeat again and again and never get bored.

I don’t know why, but whenever I listening to The Script’s songs my heart usually touched. The lyrics are so deep. I don’t know if it only occurs to me, my friend don’t like it as much as I do. It’s because I’m a kind of a poetic maybe.

The other my favorite songs of The Script are The Man Who Cant be Moved, Breakeven, Glowing, Nothing, Six Degrees of Separation, and Never Seen Anything Quite Like You.

By the way, I will tell you about Man on Wire.

It’s about a guy who loved a girl so much. But some case made the girl leave him. And then he became so desperate. He had never thought before that she would be bad for his health cause of her disappearance. Then he think “Yesterday’s love is now tomorrow’s regret”. And then he can’t even look down, he fight to forget her and all the memories. But every time he saw her, he fell again. That’s made him was like walking on a wire.

Aloe Vera "The Miracle Plant"

What is Aloe Vera?

Aloe vera is a stemless or very short-stemmed succulent  plant growing to 60–100 cm (24–39 in) tall, spreading by offsets. The leaves are thick and fleshy, green to grey-green, with some varieties showing white flecks on their upper and lower stem surfaces.

Toxicity

In 2011, the NTP carried out a series of short- and long-term carcinogenicity studies of a nondecolorized whole leaf extract of Aloe barbadensis miller (Aloe vera) in rats and mice, in which the extracts were fed to the rodents in drinking water.

The studies found "clear evidence of carcinogenic activity" in the rats, but "no evidence of carcinogenic activity" in the mice.

Both the mice and rats had increased amounts of noncancerous lesions in various tissues.

Uses of Aloe Vera

Cosmetics:

•Replace creams and lotions as a general moisturizer for dry skin. Aloe is fast absorbing!

• Reverse signs of aging skin and wrinkles. Cleopatra did!

•Brighten skin. Aloe can decrease pigmentation and dark spots.

•Speed up hair growth by massaging aloe into the scalp, letting it sit for 30 minutes, and rinsing.

Foods:

Aloe vera gel is also used commercially as an ingredient in yogurts, beverages, and some 

desserts, although at certain doses, its toxic properties could be severe whether ingested or 

topically applied.

Medicine:

•Aloe vera is used in traditional medicine as a multipurpose skintreatment. In Ayurvedic medicine it

is called kathalai, as are extract.

•Drink to lower blood sugar levels—especially for diabetics.

•Strengthen gums and promote strong, healthy teeth by taking orally or use toothpaste with aloe 

vera ingredients.

•Take aloe orally to relieve heartburn, arthritis and rheumatism pain.

MY MOM BURNT IT!!!!!

30 January 2015, i felt not really okay. Because so many reasons. After the bell had rang, i quckly went out from school. I didn't swim too, even there were schedule for 11 grade girls to swim. Because i felt my body was not really okay, i didn't force myself to go. And there was some trouble with my house that made me couldn't join englisgh class. My Mom suddenly BBM me, my father and my sister and told that she had forgotten to turn off the stove! OH GOD

I didn't see the tragedy, but my Mom told us. The story is..... when she was cooking, actually boiling sheep meat, she felt little sleepy. She decided to take nap, so she made the fire in gas stove a little lower. She only thought to take a nap, but accidentally she forgot and fell asleep.

She didn't know how long she had been sleeping, until my What's Upp annoyed her sleep. She woke up then smelled something burnt. The smell was really disgusting. And then she realize that she had forgot the cook!

Quickly she ran to the kitchen. But it was shocking! Fog, fog, fog everywhere. Our kitchen was full of fog. Nothing we could see trhought it. My Mom went outside to take a deep breath then kept it and braved herselft to turn off the gas stove. She quickly let all the doors and window open to make all fogs disappear.

This tragedy really made her scared. But she didn't told to the neighbour because she didn't want the neighbours know about her recklessness.

As soon as i arrived at home, i smelt something burnt. Rally, YUCK! Can youn imagine? Burnt sheep meat? I couldn't stand. But what can i do? I only could throught it.

Last Holiday

After I had got my report card, I was little bit sad. My IP wasn’t good at all. Because I had forgotten my fifth semester SKS PK, I had let it, so I missed it. My IP got down then. I was really disappointed and blame myself for being so lazy before. After that, I had to join SP. But unfortunately, I didn’t know about its schedule. I was sleeping at home at seven o’clock while SP was being held at that time because I didn’t know. And then I became disappointed again. So I gave up. Nothing I could do. So now, I have to take it again next semester. It doesn’t matter. Okay. It had happened. Let’s move on.

As the holiday began, I started it with sickness. I got fever. My temperature was so high. It hadn’t decrease until 2 days I got that sickness. I felt so cold even though my body actually was so-warm-almost-hot. I couldn’t sleep. I cried because I felt so cold, I was always so thirsty, and my eyes felt hot. My mother took care for myself. I really love her. She was always accompany me, and she didn’t sleep when I woke up at midnight and cried because I felt cold again and again. My father was at Jakarta when I was sick, so he only could phone me. But actually I missed him. Because since I was kid I always want my father beside me if I sick, I always feel uncomfortable and scare if I sick, so I just feel better if he beside me.

I got that sickness after I had hung up with my lovely best-friends. Because we got an our karaoke free ticket. We went to PVJ. I hadn’t had my breakfast before went. Actually I started feel not okay when I arrived at school. And then I forced myself to go hang out. My mother phoned me, and she forbad me to go. But I didn’t hear her, I just went to PVJ. Later we arrived, we ate at KFC. We called it “let’s have a snack!”. And after that we sang so many songs at Vista Karaoke. Temperature of the room was so low, I felt cold. But I didn’t care. I just continued. But as it ended, I became worse. I only wanted to go home soon. And then I went home without going to another places in PVJ. As soon as I arrived home I approach my bed. I was sick.

Because of my fever didn’t decrease after several days, my mother took me to the laboratory to check my trombosit. I didn’t tell my boyfriend about it, so he became worried. He was in holiday journey. We were in long distant relationship for some days. He only could tell me to take rest, eat good, and drink more water via LINE. It was okay for me. Nothing else I could do. I was bored to eat medicine because it was too many, and I can’t even swallow pill or medicine. I had to crash it before I swallow it.

My holiday was so flat because of my sickness. My mother had made a plan to go to Pangandaran beach one day after new year. It was almost canceled because of my fever. But thank to God, as soon as new year came I became better. I stayed up at night. I planned not to sleep when new year come, but I still felt sick I couldn’t stand not to sleep, but I promised to wake up at eleven.

And then I woke up. I chatted my best friend and my boyfriend to make target and wish for 2015. We made it and then posted after 0.00. Yup!! We promised ourselves to change our bad behaviors. After that I fell sleep.

At dawn, my Mother and my father woke me and my sister up to go to Pangandaran beach. Actually I didn’t really excited because I just wanted to stay at home and I still felt little sick. But my mother forced me so then we went to Pangandaran.

So we started the trip at 8 o'clock. I actually wasn't really excited because I wasn't healthy at all. I complained so many times because of I didn't feel comfortable. I only could sleep because there was no signal so I couldn't connect to the internet. The trip wasn't really smooth because there was traffic jam.

After a long journey, we finally arrived at afternoon.  I was so happy because soon I would find bed so I could stretch my body while sleeping. Because we arrived so late, and that day began to dark, we quickly checked in the hotel. As soon as the AC turn to on power, we all fell asleep.

The first day of the holiday we started with sunrise. We walked to east beach to see sunrise and have some breakfast. Unfortunately there was cloud covered the sky, so I couldn't see the sunrise. It was okay, my sister and my mother took some photoshoot and I was sitting while I was waiting for porridge and coconut water.

After that, my sister wanted to snorkeling. And I didn't want to. I felt so tired  so I dicided to stay at hotel, so my father accompanied me. Hour and hour left finally my mother and my sister came with hand full of food so I became very happy because I would eat. My mother said to me and asked me whether I wanted to go to Green Canyon. The last time I went there when I was really a little kid, so I decided to go. The distant between Pangandaran beach and Green Canyon was not really far, but there was traffic jam. Badly, we arrived late. Green Canyon was so crowded so finally my father decided to cancel it. And then we went to the hotel.

In the afternoon my mother, my father and i walked to west beach to see sunset. And fortunatelly there was sunset. And then i took so many selfies and captured the beautiful scenery. At night, we fooled around. We rent 'odong-odong' and bike together along the beach. It was so funny yet made us thirsty because it need so much energy. After it, we had dinner. And  looked for medicine and went back to the hotel.

The next day fortunately, I got that sunset. We took so many photos there. And after had had breafkfast, my sister, my father and me wanted to ride banana boat, UFO, and marble. It was really pleased me and made me happy. I screamed so loud because I was scared  to fall to the sea. But it was safe because I was wearing life vest. When I rode marble, my hand was so weak, so I was threw to the sea. It was really cool!

After it, we went back to the hotel. I took a bath. I srubbed myself with lulur. After that, we suddenly decided to go home that day. Because we were too tired and my father had to work at the following day so he need to take rest. After all had taken a bath, we ate lunch with so many kind of seafood. And finally we went back to Bandung. I was so glad becaude my sickness had gone!!

After all these things, I just spent my holiday in my house and went to SMA3 because I had to practice in playing angklung with KPA. There, I finally met my boyfriend and we weren't in long distant relationship anymore:))

Video Conference

Actually when my english class threw Video Conference, i was doing my tasks. So i didn't join. I had thought fisrt there would only regular learning activity, so i chose to do my tasks because it was too many, and close to the deadline. After i had done some percent of my tasks, i went back to school and suddenly my english classmate told me that Video Conference had been held. So i felt regret. I had never joined some Video Conference. I thought it would be exciting. 

T.... TA..... TAS..... TASK...... TASKS....... TASK....... TAS....... TA....... T........ TI..... TIR.... TIRE..... 

TIRED!!!!!!!!!!

At that time was so close to semseter examination, there were so many assignments that had to be done quickly. So teachers could input the score to the report card. Because assignment really influence the grade, so i did my assignments with all of my skill and creativity, in case hoping i would get good score.

I hope in next time teachers will not give the students too many assigments. We need to rest, and feel our teenage moment

Every religion or culture all over the world has their own way to define and celebrate their new year. For example, the Chinese have the Imlek year and to celebrate it, have, as they called it in their own language, "Gong Xi Fat Choy". The Moslem societies have their Muharam year, and any of the people over the world using the Gregorian calendar, celebrate the New Year on January 1st.

The same thing also occurs in Bali, however the Balinese use many different calendar systems. They have adopted the Gregorian calendar for business and government purposes. But for the endless procession of holy days, temple anniversaries, celebrations, sacred dances, building houses, wedding ceremonies, death and cremation processes and other activities that define Balinese life, they have two calendar systems. The first is the Pawukon (from the word Wuku which means week) and Sasih (which is means month). Wuku consists of 30 items starting from Sinta, the first Wuku and end up with the Watugunung the last one. The Pawukon, a 210-day ritual calendar brought over from Java in the 14th century, is a complex cycle of numerological conjunctions that provides the basic schedule for ritual activities on Bali. Sasih, a parallel system of Indian origin, is a twelve month lunar calendar that starts with the vernal equinox and is equally important in determining when to pay respect to the Gods.
Westerners open the New Year in revelry, however, in contrast, the Balinese open their New Year in silence. This is called Nyepi Day, the Balinese day of Silence, which falls on the day following the dark moon of the spring equinox, and opens a new year of the Saka Hindu era which began in 78 A.D.

Nyepi is a day to make and keep the balance of nature. It is based on the story of when King Kaniska I of India was chosen in 78 A.D. The King was famous for his wisdom and tolerance for the Hinduism and Buddhism societies. In that age, Aji Saka did Dharma Yatra (the missionary tour to promote and spread Hinduism) to Indonesia and introduce the Saka year.

The lead upto Nyepi day is as follows:

• Melasti or Mekiyis or Melis (three days before Nyepi)
  Melasti is meant to clean the pratima or arca or pralingga (statue), with symbols that help to concentrate the mind in order to become closer to God. The ceremony is aimed to clean all nature and its content, and also to take the Amerta (the source for eternal life) from the ocean or other water resources (ie lake, river, etc). Three days before Nyepi, all the effigies of the Gods from all the village temples are taken to the river in long and colourful ceremonies. There, they have are bathed by the Neptune of the Balinese Lord, the God Baruna, before being taken back home to their shrines.
• Tawur Kesanga (the day before Nyepi)
  Exactly one day before Nyepi, all villages in Bali hold a large exorcism ceremony at the main village cross road, the meeting place of demons. They usually make Ogoh-ogoh (the fantastic monsters or evil spirits or the Butha Kala made of bamboo) for carnival purposes. The Ogoh-ogoh monsters symbolize the evil spirits surrounding our environment which have to be got rid of from our lives . The carnivals themselves are held all over Bali following sunset. • music accompanies the procession. Some are giants taken from classical Balinese lore. All have fangs, bulging eyes and scary hair and are illuminated by torches.The procession is usually organised by the Seka Teruna, the youth organisation of Banjar. When Ogoh-ogoh is being played by the Seka Teruna, everyone enjoys the carnival. In order to make a harmonic relation between human being and God, human and human, and human and their environments, Tawur Kesanga is performed in every level of society, from the people's house. In the evening, the Hindus celebrating Ngerupuk, start making noises and light burning torches and set fire to the Ogoh-ogoh in order to get the Bhuta Kala, evil spirits, out of our lives.
• Nyepi
  On Nyepi day itself, every street is quiet - there are nobody doing their normal daily activities. There is usually Pecalangs (traditional Balinese security man) who controls and checks for street security. Pecalang wear a black uniform and a Udeng or Destar (a Balinese traditional "hat" that is usually used in ceremony). The Pecalangs main task is not only to control the security of the street but also to stop any activities that disturb Nyepi. No traffic is allowed, not only cars but also people, who have to stay in their own houses. Light is kept to a minimum or not at all, the radio or TV is turned down and, of course, no one works. Even love making, this ultimate activity of all leisure times, is not supposed to take place, nor even attempted. The whole day is simply filled with the barking of a few dogs, the shrill of insect and is a simple long quiet day in the calendar of this otherwise hectic island. On Nyepi the world expected to be clean and everything starts anew, with Man showing his symbolic control over himself and the "force" of the World, hence the mandatory religious control.
• Ngembak Geni (the day after Nyepi)
  Ngembak is the day when Catur Berata Penyepian is over and Hindus societies usually visit to forgive each other and doing the Dharma Canthi. Dharma Canthi are activities of reading Sloka, Kekidung, Kekawin, etc.(ancient scripts containing songs and lyrics).

From the religious and philosophy point of view, Nyepi is meant to be a day of self introspection to decide on values, eg humanity, love, patience, kindness, etc., that should kept forever. Balinese Hindus have many kind of celebrations (some sacred days) but Nyepi is, perhaps the most important of the island's religious days and the prohibitions are taken seriously, particularly in villages outside of Bali's southern tourist belt. Hotels are exempt from Nyepi's rigorous practices but streets outside will be closed to both pedestrians and vehicles (except for airport shuttles or emergency vehicles) and village wardens (Pecalang) will be posted to keep people off the beach. So wherever you happen to be staying on Nyepi Day in Bali, this will be a good day to spend indoors. Indeed Nyepi day has made Bali a unique island.
